2013

Since its introduction in 2006, the Ford Fusion has become one of the most popular Ford models on the market. This sporty four-door mid-size car offers consumers a strong performance combined with a spacious interior and comfortability. With the Fusion acting as the first car to display the “new face of Ford” three-bar grille, Ford has made it a priority to see that this vehicle stands out among the competition in its class. Drivers in Bradley and Peotone are encouraged to stop by their Bradley-area Ford dealer and see for themselves what makes the Ford Fusion so special.

Initial Generation (2006-2012)

From the beginning, the Fusion offered Ford drivers a multitude of different options. It originally came in three different trim levels: the S, SE, and SEL. The S model came powered by a 2.3L I4 engine that produced 160 hp coupled with either a five-speed manual or automatic transmission, while the SE and SEL were equipped with a 3.0L V6 Duratec engine along with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

In 2007, V6 models came available with all-wheel drive. Other features that began to appear between 2007 and 2009 included front-seat side airbags, an auxiliary input jack for your iPod or MP3 player, navigation system, ABS, Ford’s SYNC multimedia system, and electronic stability control among others.

The Ford Fusion received new front and rear end fascia designs for the 2010 model. In addition, the interior was redesigned with an optional eight0inch screen navigation control system, a redesigned center console, and Ford’s “Ice Blue” illumination on controls and gauges.

The Current Generation (2013- )

Available in S, SE, and Titanium trim levels, the 2013 Ford Fusion is the first model of its new generation. This latest Fusion offers more size in the wheelbase and is longer, wider, and taller than the previous model.

Three different engine options are available: the Duratec 2.5L I4, the EcoBoost 1.6L I4, which delivers an estimated 37mpg highway, giving it the best-in-class fuel economy for non-hybrid mid-size sedan, and the 2.0L Duratec.

The new Fusion also includes a number of driver assistance innovations, including a Lane Keeping System, designed to help drivers stay in their lane, active park assist, and Blind Spot Information System, which alerts drivers if there are vehicles in his or her blind spot.
