2017 Ford F-150 Raptor: Lighter and Meaner than Ever Before

2017 F-150 Raptor

For Chicago and Manteno drivers looking to find out more about the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor, look no further than Terry’s Ford of Peotone. We have the inside scoop on what’s to be expected of the 2017 F-150 Raptor, including what powertrain will be available, what new features it will have, and how it will stand out from other high-performance trucks on the road.

More Power and Efficiency

Ford knows power and performance from its long history with the iconic Mustang line, and it is using this knowledge to make the ultimate high-performance pickup: the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor. The upcoming Raptor will be powered by an all-new high-output 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine. It’s expected to be paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Lighter but Stronger

The 2017 F-150 Raptor will have a purpose-built high-strength steel frame that is 500 pounds lighter than current models and has been specially engineered for high-performance off-roading. It will include a new terrain management system that optimizes off-road performance by allowing you to change settings to Normal, Snow, Sand, and Mud. The 4x4 system will be controlled via steering wheel-mounted buttons, and the system will tailor the characteristics of the engine, drivetrain, and stability control based on the setting you select.

Exterior Styling

Style is one of the main selling points of the Raptor line, and it continues this tradition with the 2017 model. The prominent front skid plate, front fender vents, and bed decals have evolved and will be more striking than ever. The Raptor’s grille and detailed lights will now be framed with a more refined design than the previous block style. In addition, a pinched-up rear end completes the desert-racer look to match the incredible engine under the hood.
