  • 2.5L i-VCT I-4: This standard engine still ensures a strong, responsive drive. You’ll benefit from an output equal to 168 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque, while still making an impressive 22 mpg in the city and 31 on the highway.
  • 1.6L GTDI: Combining turbocharging and direct injection for 178 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, this engine showcases impressive performance, while still allowing you to make 23 mpg in the city and 32 on the highway, or 22 mpg city and 29 mpg highway with AWD.
  • 2.0L GTDI: For those who need work-ready output, the 2.0L motor commands 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. It offers 22 mpg in the city and 30 on the highway, as well as 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway with AWD.

Each engine is paired with a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission system, which allows for smooth gear shifting without the hassle of a clutch.

Interior

2016 Ford Escape InteriorThe 2016 Ford Escape provides 98.1 cubic feet of passenger space for a total of 5 people, making it noticeably roomy and comfortable with plenty of room for cargo. Even with all seats occupied, you’ll have 15.5 cubic feet of cargo space to play with. If you require more, just flip the third row down for 34.3 cubic feet or fold the second and third for an expansive 67.8 cubic feet for storage.

The interior is even eco-conscious, as well as generously sized. Over 10 pounds of recovered cotton has been used for sound-absorption, creating a whisper-quiet drive with environmentally friendly credentials.

Comfort and Convenience Features

2016 Ford Escape Sony Audio SystemEven the standard model 2016 Ford Escapes boast plenty of premium technology for Chicago and Manteno drivers to enjoy, including a rearview camera for confident reversing and a SYNC system to control your music and connect to your smartphone. However, a number of available features can be equipped, allowing drivers to perfectly customize their vehicle.

  • Active Park Assist: Ultrasonic sensors help guide you into perpendicular parking spaces. First, they’ll measure distance to find one large enough, then all you need to do is shift, accelerate, and brake.
  • Class-Exclusive Handsfree Liftgate: With the Intelligent Access key on your person, just move your foot beneath the bumper to open the rear hatch.
  • Sony Audio System: Utilizing 390 watts of power, 10 premium speakers, plus a dual-channel subwoofer and an innovative iTunes Tagging feature, this is the perfect system for your driving soundtrack.

Safety

2016 Ford Escape As standard, the 2016 Ford Escape includes a wide array of safety features to keep you and your passengers from coming to harm, such as an AdvanceTrac system with roll stability control, brake assist, and torque vectoring control.

There are also a number of driver-assistance technologies, which are perfectly designed for those who demand an additional layer of protection. The BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) uses radar to identify vehicles in your blind spot and provides an alert in the appropriate exterior mirror, while the cross-traffic alert system monitors the road behind you for incoming vehicles whenever you’re reversing.
