Trim Levels and Price

Ford Taurus The 2015 Ford Taurus is offered in four trim levels, with each one catering to a certain type of Chicago and Manteno driver:

  • SE: Starting at $27,055, the entry-level model offers a generous collection of standard features, including air conditioning, remote keyless entry, and a rearview camera.
  • SEL: Starting at $29,485, the SEL is all about comfort, with dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control ensuring that both passenger and driver can customize their driving environment, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob giving each ride a dash of indulgence.
  • Limited: Starting at $34,405, the Limited is provided with a high-end atmosphere by offering leather-trimmed heated and cooled front bucket seats with 10-way power adjustment for both the driver and passenger. A reverse sensing system is also included.
  • SHO: Starting at $40,220, the SHO model is for drivers with a passion for performance. A 3.5L EcoBoost V6 comes as standard, combining turbocharging and direct injection to deliver a phenomenal experience during every journey.

With the S model starting at $31,570, the 2015 Chrysler 300 will cost at least $4,500 more than the 2015 Ford Taurus. Models work their way up to the $42,395 300C Platinum, which fails to provide a standard engine with the same power as the SHO, instead demanding extra for an available alternative.

Powertrains and MPG

Ford Taurus Ford is known for offering a varied selection of engines for each vehicle they produce, and the 2015 Taurus is no exception. Three engine choices allow Chicago and Manteno drivers to find their perfect blend of performance and economy:

  • All-Round Performance: For those who want the best of both worlds, the standard 3.5L Ti-VCT V6 can deliver. 288 hp ensures a thrilling ride, while still allowing for 19 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway with front-wheel drive.
  • Efficiency: A 2.0L EcoBoost I4 is available for those drivers who value low fuel-consumption. Though it still offers a generous 240 hp, the fuel-sipping powertrain promises 22 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.
  • Power: The SHO’s 3.5L Twin-Turbocharged EcoBoost V6 supplies an incredible 365 hp, refined to offer 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.

The 2015 Chrysler 300 is available with two engines: a 3.6L Pentastar V6 and a 5.7L HEMI. The available HEMI boasts slightly less power than the Ford’s 3.5L Ecoboost – with a horsepower rating of 363 – while the standard Pentastar’s 292 hp only marginally outclasses the 3.5L Ti-VCT V6 in the Taurus. However, neither comes close to matching the Taurus in terms of efficiency, with a maximum of 19 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.

Interior

Ford Taurus The cabin of the 2015 Taurus enjoys the high standard of design and noticeable attention to detail that Manteno drivers have come to expect. It’s also relatively spacious, especially when it comes to cargo room. While the 2015 Chrysler 300 offers 16.3 cubic feet to store all your luggage, the 2015 Ford Taurus supplies a vastly more generous 20.1 cubic feet.

Of course, that space is complemented by a number of premium features as standard, with the Ford offering a ParkView Rear Back-Up Camera for confident reversing, unlike the 2015 Chrysler 300. You’d think the excess of over $4,500 needed to move from Taurus to the 300 would have covered the cost.

Optional Features

Ford Taurus In addition to its enviable list of standard features, the 2015 Ford Taurus also benefits from a varied selection of optional features that aren’t available with the 2015 Chrysler 300.

These include:

  • Multicontour Seats: This innovative feature conceals seven seat-bottom and lumbar air cushions beneath the front seats, subtly rolling them to ensure that muscle fatigue is a problem you’ll never face again.
  • Sony Audio System: Fitted with HD radio technology, this device boasts 12 speakers — more than the 10 provided with the 300’s optional sound system — as well as a handy iTunes Tagging feature.

Safety Features

Ford Taurus Both the 2015 Ford Taurus and the 2015 Chrysler 300 are equipped with a vast range of safety features as standard. However, the Taurus pulls ahead by offering a number of additional driver-assistance system designed to keep you from harm, including:

  • Lane-Keeping System
  • Lane-Keeping Alert
  • BLIS (Blind Spot Information System)
  • Cross-Traffic Alert
