Performance

Both the Ford Fiesta and the Chevrolet Sonic offer comparable small engines. The 2015 Chevrolet Sonic is available with a 1.8L four-cylinder engine; when paired with an automatic transmission, this engine offers 35 mpg. The available 1.4L four-cylinder engine is capable of up to 37 mpg when paired with an automatic transmission.

The 2015 Ford Fiesta offers a 1.6L EcoBoost I-4 engine, which delivers up to 37 mpg highway when paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The Fiesta, however, is also available with a turbocharged 1.0L three-cylinder engine, allowing it to achieve a stunning 43 mpg highway when paired with a five-speed manual transmission.

Technology

Technology is an important aspect of every car. The Sonic and Fiesta both offer touchscreens and navigation. The Sonic offers a seven-inch color screen that allows you to connect to your smartphone and stream pictures when the vehicle is in park.

The Ford Fiesta offers a 6.5-inch color touchscreen that has the available SYNC with MyFord Touch. This allows you to answer your phone with the push of a button and make a call with the sound of your voice. You can also connect your smartphone and listen wirelessly to music on your phone by just saying “Bluetooth audio.” The screen may be smaller than the one found in the Sonic, by SYNC is only available on Ford vehicles, giving it an edge in functionality.

Safety

Safety is always a key concern for Bradley drivers searching for their next car. The 2015 Chevrolet Sonic comes standard with airbags, and a rearview camera is optional. It also comes with forward collision alert and lane departure warning systems.

The Ford Fiesta also comes with comprehensive airbags, including dual-stage front airbags and driver’s knee airbags. The Fiesta also comes with electronic stability control, integrated blind-spot mirrors, and an available rearview camera. Finally, the 2015 Fiesta is available with Ford’s MyKey system, which allows the driver to set speed limits and volume control when another person is driving the car.
