The 2014 Ford Fiesta vs. The 2014 Chevy Spark
Bradley area drivers looking for a compact 4-door “hot-hatch”
with contemporary urban style, a long list of luxurious amenities, and
impressive fuel efficiency should start their search with the 2014 Ford Fiestaand the 2014
Chevy Spark! Both of these vehicles have become popular for a reason, but the
new Ford Fiesta, now available at Terry’s Ford in Peotone, delivers superior
drivability, performance, and convenience. Take a look at how these two models
match up to see for yourself!
- Compact with a Kick: The 2014 Ford Fiesta has a standard 1.6L
DOHC 4-cylinder engine under its hood that’s capable of 120 hp and 112
lb-ft of peak torque for on-demand acceleration that’s ideal in densely
populated areas. The 2014 Chevy Spark is equipped with a 1.2L engine that
only puts out 84 hp and 83 lb-ft of torque, which isn’t nearly as
responsive as the new Fiesta’s engine.
- Fuel Economy: Road trip enthusiasts will thoroughly enjoy how
efficient the 2014 Ford Fiesta is. It gets an EPA-estimated 41 mpg on the
highway and has a 12.4 gallon gas tank. With this kind of range, the new
Fiesta can travel for longer distances before having to worry about
filling up again. The 2014 Chevy Spark gets an estimated 39 mpg on the
highway and only has a 9.2 gallon gas tank.
- Luxuries and Conveniences: Bluetooth wireless connectivity is
standard with the new Ford Fiesta. This allows drivers to connect their
smartphones to the vehicle’s infotainment system to make or receive phone
calls without their hands leaving the wheel. The Fiesta also has standard
rear heat vents in order to quickly warm the vehicle and keep rear
occupants comfortable in cold weather. The new Chevy Spark does not have
standard Bluetooth connectivity or rear heat vents.
