The 2014 Ford Fiesta vs. The 2014 Chevrolet Sonic

Bradley area drivers in the market for a fun, sporty compact with high fuel-efficiency ratings and plenty of amenities will love what the 2014 Ford Fiesta brings to the table. Here at Terry’s Ford of Peotone, we know that other popular models like the 2014 Chevy Sonic offer some tough competition for the new Ford Fiesta, but after comparing these two vehicles and looking at the hard facts, it’s clear that the new Fiesta has the edge.

  • More Efficient: The standard 1.6L 4-cylinder engine under the hood of the 2014 Ford Fiesta gets an estimated 38 mpg on the highway when mated to the manual transmission. When this engine is mated to the available 6-speed automatic transmission, the estimate bumps up to 39 mpg highway. The 2014 Chevy Sonic only gets an estimated 35 mpg highway from its 1.8L 4-cylinder engine when mated to both the manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Better Maneuverability: Standard drift compensation steering automatically compensates for any weather or road conditions that might cause the 2014 Ford Fiesta to drift unintentionally. The 2014 Sonic does not offer drift compensation steering, so you’ll have to compromise on safety if you want to go with Chevy.
  • Premium Luxuries: The 2014 Ford Fiesta has an available exterior keypad to unlock the doors in the event that you accidentally lock yourself out of the vehicle. Optional automatic temperature control keeps the temperature that you set. This feature monitors fan speed, vents, and overall temperature so that a comfortable environment is maintained. The 2014 Chevy Sonic does not come with automatic air conditioning or a keypad to unlock the doors.
