The Ford E-Series Wagon Has Become The Ford Transit For 2014

The pinnacle of light commercial vehicles is on the horizon with the 2014 Ford Transit, formerly known as the E-Series Wagon. This all-new van is completely redesigned from the ground up in order to provide the best in durability, efficiency, and customization for optimal performance on the job. You’ll have to wait until early next year to get your hands on this innovative light commercial van, but when it is released, you can be sure that we’ll have it here at Terry’s Ford in Peotone, your local Bradley area Ford dealer. Here is a closer peek at the 2014 Ford Transit’s revamped design!

Configurations For Any Job

One of the most noticeable changes from the former E-Series van is that it no longer has its traditional boxy, one-dimensional wagon exterior. The 2014 Ford Transit features a sleek, aerodynamic body with high ceilings on its van and wagon models. The Transit’s new unibody construction is very lightweight in order to maintain exceptional fuel economy while also continuing its reputation for durability with its boron steel frame. Four different model configurations add to the new Transit’s versatility as a light commercial vehicle. The spacious cargo van and passenger wagon will utilize the unibody construction to safely house your passengers and anything you might be hauling. The chassis cab and the cutaway models featuring direct cab-to-body access give drivers plenty of room to work with an open bed.

Power that Works For You

The 2014 Ford Transit comes available with three different engine options in order to provide optimum job efficiency.

  • The 3.7L Ti-VCT V6 engine puts the driver in control of the exhaust camshafts and intake. This helps to better optimize combustion when the van is at a full load in order to increase power while maintaining low-speed torque. For greater fuel efficiency, the 3.7L is flex-fuel capable.

  • The 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine is a stellar combination of turbocharging and direct injection. For responsive surges of power, the two turbochargers achieve their operating speeds rather quickly and on demand when needed.

  • The 3.2L I-5 Power Stroke turbo diesel engine is perfect for vans that provide courier or transport services. Due to the aforementioned operating needs, this engine will provide efficient, responsive power while still being able to idle for long periods of time during stop-and-go driving conditions.
