The 2013 Ford Fusion for Peotone Drivers Will Now Be Available in Hybrid and Hybrid Plug-In Versions

2013 Ford Fusion

The popular Ford Fusion is about to get even better! The 2013 Ford Fusion for Peotone, Bourbonnais, Monee, and Frankfort drivers will now be offered in a choice of two new hybrid versions: standard hybrid and plug-in hybrid. For those that are looking to save a few bucks on the cost of gas without giving up style, comfort, and reliability, the new 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid may be the perfect choice for you.

The All-New Fusion Hybrid Features a Lighter, More Powerful Battery to Increase Performance

The new 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid will be powered by a 2.0L Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine, with a permanent-magnet AC synchronous motor providing electric power to boost performance to 185 hp. An electronically controlled CVT will send power to the wheels. For 2013, new lighter, more powerful lithium-ion batteries are replacing last year’s hybrid’s nickel-metal hydride batteries. With this new setup, the Fusion Hybrid will have a top-speed from the electric motor alone of around 62 mph, which is up 15 mph from 2012. Ford expects the Fusion Hybrid to outperform both the Sonata and the Camry, getting close to 47 mpg in the city and 44 mpg on the highway.

The 2013 Fusion Hybrid will be equipped with loads of technology and amenities for a truly enjoyable driving experience. Frankfurt buyers will get not only many of the same great features that are found in the gas-powered Fusion but also an assortment of new and improved features, including:

  • SmartGauge® with EcoGuide Cluster
  • Blind Spot Alert
  • MyFord Touch System
  • Active Parking Assist
  • Lane Keeping System
  • Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning
  • Soy Foam Seats

2013 Fusion Engine Options

While the new 2013 Fusion lineup will feature new hybrid versions, it will again be offered in a conventional gas-powered model as well. Those that opt for the gas-powered Fusion will get their choice of three different engines: a 170-hp 2.5L four-cylinder paired to a six-speed automatic transmission, a 1.6L EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 179 hp with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, or a 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder that kicks out 237 hp and is equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive will be available on the 2.0L Fusion models only. Ford’s engine stop-start system will be standard on, and exclusive to, the 1.6L models. This feature is expected to reduce emissions and fuel consumption for Bourbonnais drivers by up to 3.5%.
